With Valentine's Day sneaking up on us, it's time to start thinking about desserts to make the dessert table sing.
Whether celebrating Galentine's Day, Valentine's Day, or both days, I've always believed that desserts make a table sing.
Last year I wanted to add some little cakes to the table, but I opted to do chocolate pecan turtles instead. So this year I'm excited to add some heart shaped mini cakes to the table because they just seem to add a touch of cuteness in their own unique way.
These little guys are cute, tasty, and super easy to make.
To make these I used my own hand crafted cake mix. Any store bought cake mix or 1234 cake recipe would work for these.
Heart shaped silicone molds are best to use because the cakes pop right out of their mold after they're baked. They're also super easy to clean up and any baked on droplets come right off.
The key to making these look like they're right out of the bakery is the fondant. The recipe is simple and my recipe uses those little candy melts you can find in your bakery store or the bakery section of a craft store.
Here's the recipe.
