There's nothing like adding a pop of color to a space with a pretty floral arrangement. A few flowers in a vase can add charm, elegance, cheer, warmth and excitement to a space.
Getting your hands on a gorgeous bouquet can be a bit pricey, and the thought of creating one may seem a little intimidating.
The good news is that it doesn't have to be. Today I'm going to share with you a few simple tips to create a flower bouquet that will make you forget the florist.
Eyeball The Space You'll Display Your Floral Arrangement
Your space is going to determine the size of your arrangement. Larger spaces will usually require a larger arrangement and smaller spaces, small arrangements.
So your container is should suit the size of your space.
Choosing A Container For Your Flower Arrangement
Pick a container that you love, but make it at least 1/2 to 1/3 of the size of your flowers.
Urns and containers with wider middles make great vessels for holding water (for fresh flower arrangements), but they also make amazing vessels for creating arrangements with tons of beautiful greenery and lots of filler flowers.
This urn arrangement uses a balance of larger hydrangeas with smaller roses and filler flowers to create a stunning display. The size of the container provides enough room for the flowers to sit perfectly inside without consuming the vessel.
Use A Focal Point
Try to stick with one larger flower and build layers around them. Once focal point helps to keep your floral arrangement from looking too cluttered. For example sticking with one main color that catches the eye and using different flower types in that color will stand out. Another example is to use one larger flower (think flower type and not just one single flower).
Use Fillers To Add Depth
Fillers such as Queen Anne's Lace, statice (or sea lavender) and waxflower make amazing fillers. Baby's breath is another go to filler.
Pick Flowers That You Love
This is so important. Sometimes we can get caught up into what we thing things should look like that we forget what we love. Creating your flower arrangement should be something that you look at and get 'I did it' chills. It should be everything you love, not everything someone else loves. So be sure to incorporate flower genera that are appealing to you.
Keep Your Flowers Looking Like New
Faux flowers can get a bit dusty, but there are easy and quick fixes to that without feeling like you have to toss them. Following these simple tips can help you to keep your artificial flowers looking like new so that your arrangement will continue to look stunning for longer.
Remember Less Is More
Flowers are known for their simplistic beauty and elegance. Keep your flowers down to a few so that your arrangement isn’t overly costly and too ostentatious. Flowers work magic in a room on their own. There’s no need to overdo it.
