Happy 2016!
We’ve officially made it through the first week of the new year, and I’ve had start with apologies. We have some of the absolute best customers ever, and for years, I’ve put a lot into making sure that each item is created nicely, while also making sure that it’s packaged securely and shipped out in a timely manner. The past holiday seemed to test that, drastically, as the postal service lost and delayed many packages, causing us to look really bad in getting packages delivered. Unfortunately, while we don’t deliver the packages ourselves, we do have the obligation to get our customers’ orders to them, and it just doesn’t sit well with us that it’s been so problematic. So, for this reason, I have had to start off the new year with many apologies, as we’ve had to research tracking, contact the postal service, and file claim after claim for items we just can’t seem to locate. It’s annoying.
On another note, I’m happy to walk into the new year with lots of hope. We’ve been relocating our studio, and now have more space. Things are still quite a mess since we had to focus most of the holiday season on orders, but we’re hoping to get the mess settled soon.
There’s still a lot of organizing to do because everything is everywhere. The move, itself will likely cause a slight delay in getting some of our orders out during the month of January, but things shouldn’t be too delayed. It’s just a matter of trying to smoothly place everything so that when we go to create something, we know where our supplies are. Nothing like a lot of chaos when you’re trying to create. I’ve had to restart projects over just because I was looking for something, couldn’t find it, and missed my timeframe to add an element to a design. So, I’m really going to be taking the month to put things in their place and get our new work area organized.
A slower start getting settled in this new year hasn't hindered my thoughts of how crazy thankful I am for the wonderful gift of awesome customers that we've been granted. This has been a amazing year of meeting new customers and serving our repeat customers who have faithfully turned to us for their candle and gift giving needs. We're so grateful to have such kind customers, and we look forward to building on our relationship during the year 2016. All the best to you this new year!
