Treating Yourself to Luxury

It feels great when I've worked really hard and I'm able to splurge on something for myself. With a large family, I can easily get lost in what everyone else wants and forget myself. Usually, I'm a huge fan of putting self last, but there are times when I just pamper myself with something extra special.

When I'm in the market for a special "me" treat, I think of luxury brands that make splendid splurges that represent my own personal style. It's not a bad idea to splurge every once in awhile something in the world of luxurious items for a job well-done, a change of life status or a celebration of a milestone. So I make sure that I set goals, specifically so that when I reach them, I can reward myself with something special.

A splurge doesn't have to be something outrageously expensive. It can be something that you wouldn't ordinarily buy because it's just not in your immediate budget. One year, I rewarded myself with a brand new perfume, Chanel Chance. I never had a regret about that bottle of perfume because it felt great to reward myself with something that I'd not only worked for, but it also inspired me to keep pushing towards the next reward. I think it's important to see rewards for hard work, but without sacrificing your needs, of course.
