Everything Dawn Just Launched Tresor de Printemps Spring Faux Cake Collection and the New Charlotte is a Bit Naked

It's finally dropped. The new collection, Tresor de Printemps is now live in the shop and features both Charlotte and Millicent faux cakes.

Both cakes were inspired by antique floral patterns and incorporate a rather unique element of design. The slightly cracked and chipped appearance combined with muted cream tones give the faux cakes, themselves, a unique texture and aged feel without compromising the realistic look of the cakes.

When I designed these cakes, I was inspired by more than just patterns. I was inspired by the art and the music of the times. There are so many things that I love about the roaring twenties and the war years (40s in particular) that I used a lot of that inspo to design this collection.

Millicent was mostly inspired by this pattern, but the sound that I heard in my mind was that sound of the forties. Think Dorothy Dandridge and Etta James. I couldn't escape those beautiful patterns and tunes. I added the elements of hand designed clay roses with the idea of using an older art to embellish the faux cake.

But there had to be a modern spin on this antique look. That's how Charlotte was born. I decided that the modernity of naked cake should definitely be a part of the collection, but I didn't want it to overshadow the vintage vibe. So Charlotte was designed to be vintage with a bit of nakedness.

That, my friends, is pretty much the story behind Tresor de Printemps. That's 'Spring Treasure' in French. The designs, themselves, are a treasure of techniques, both old and new, that were combined to create a spring treasure that I hope you'll love.

Take a look at the collection, and let me know what you think about it in the comments.
