Styling a Classic Valentine's Day Tablescape with a Bit of Balance of Old and New

Valentine's Day is a blink away, and it's time to start thinking tablescapes. Today I've joined some crazy talented friends to give you some beautiful Valentine's Day inspiration that will help you to get your tablescape juices flowing.

I always enjoy table styling for Valentine's Day because it gives me a reason to romanticize and create something dreamy. I'm a sucker for an elegant table, so this holiday is just one more reason to get the table all prettied up.

This year I ran into a snag, literally, when I pulled out my original table runner and it was snagged. I wanted to run out and grab something else, but decided to try to find something else and try to make it work.

So I went with mixed metals.

Mixed metals are my go to when I want to add a little elegance to what I'd otherwise deem as pretty classic.

I decided to use a silver table scarf alongside gold and brass accents that I had floating around.

I used a set of new ceramic black plates and simple gold beaded chargers. My napkins are also stitched in gold and I decided to pull out my pewter Medici stemware, another really elegant touch I couldn't resist.
One other new addition to my table this year is my gifted Rose Forever Intense Black Velvet Red box.

Rose Forever NY has some of the most beautiful preserved flowers, and they best thing is that they look amazing on the table for up to a year!
You can see that my real rose, left, is very comparable to the color and the quality of these roses. I was crazy impressed by their beauty and how fresh they look. The touch of them feels soft and not crumbly like dried preserved roses, and the black velvet box really elevated my Valentine's Day tablescape this year.

Fresh red roses are another addition to my black and gold settings that I thought would add a nice romantic touch to the table. The red roses are so classic for Valentine's Day, and I find it hard to stray from them. Adding a simple rose stem is a great way to give my guests a gift to walk away with.
